Ash Wednesday Collection

On Ash Wednesday, 2/22/23, the Diocese of Santa Rosa will take up the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This Collection makes funds available for grants that provide pastoral care and a cultural and spiritual education for people who live in areas formerly under the control of the Soviet Union. The Dioceses of the U.S. take up this Collection as a way for Catholics in the United States to stand in solidarity with those who face the enormous task of rebuilding the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. We are very much aware of our own local needs. In fact, we rely on grants from Catholic agencies to fund some of our own programs. Generosity to this collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe is a way for us to give thanks to God for the abundance with which we have been blessed.
