Recognize God as the origin of life, giver of freedom, and source of all things.
Stewardship
Catholic stewardship is recognizing that all you are and all you have are gifts from God. It is understanding that He lovingly shares these gifts with you and trusts you to nurture, care for and responsibly utilize them. And it is showing gratitude for your gifts by sharing with others and giving back to God through prayer, worship, offerings and action.
From the National Conference of Catholic Bishops:
"recognize God as the origin of life, giver of freedom, and source of all things."
"receive God's gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord."
"give generous support - time, money, prayers, and personal service according to your circumstances - to parish and diocesan programs."
"consider prayerfully the gifts you have received from God, and make a decision (in advance from the first fruits instead of what is left over after obligations have been met) about what will be given."
Practicing a lifestyle of stewardship provides opportunities to thank God for all of the blessings you have received. St. Eugene's greatly appreciates your sharing of your time and talents through your involvement with parish ministries and activities and your financial support of the parish.
