Nativity of the Lord - Christmas

  • Cathedral of St. Eugene (map)

My brothers and sisters, I write this note of greeting to update you on the upcoming solemn celebrations that come next week as we celebrate our Savior’s birth. Due to the somewhat harsh restrictions by the government and the curfew imposed, we have less freedom in our ability to worship our Lord. The Christmas schedule is pretty much the same except for Midnight Mass with the Bishop (after the curfew) which will be posted on our YouTube channel. All the other Masses will take place as scheduled, with the faithful outside (under canopies) with face masks and social distance observed. Communion will be distributed at the proper time to the faithful gathered.

For those who do not wish to be with the crowds, you are welcome to listen to Holy Mass from your cars on a short range FM channel 93.3. You may approach Communion at the appropriate time. Also, those who watch from home are able to receive Communion up to a half hour after Mass has concluded. Be advised, that the Masses are usually under an hour and may finish sooner than in the past, so you may need to adjust the time to arrive for Holy Communion.
